Fino mljevene i klasificirane posebne gline koriste se kao punila u mnogim različitim područjima primjene. Plastični materijali, elastomeri, premazi, kao i ljepila i brtvila, predstavljaju samo mali dio širokog spektra ciljnih tržišta.

Preduvjet za ova područja primjene su stupnjevi finoće s maksimalnim ostatkom na situ (mokro sijanje) od 0,005 % na 40 µm.
