Volastonit je prirodni kalcijev silikat koji nastaje iz kvarca i kalcijeva karbonata pri temperaturi od oko 450 °C. Struktura pojedinačnih čestica volastonita određena je odgovarajućom geološkom formacijom i odabranom tehnologijom obrade. Ovisno o primjeni kao visokoučinkovito punilo, proizvodimo zrnate oblike čestica s niskim omjerom duljine i promjera (Low Aspect Ratio — serija proizvoda TREMIN® 283) te izražene igličaste čestice volastonita s visokim omjerom duljine i promjera (High Aspect Ratio — serija proizvoda TREMIN® 939). Primjenjuje se u plastici (otpornost na udarce i trošenje), fluoroelastomerima, npr. za brtve rotirajućih vratila, premazima i antikorozivnim premazima, uključujući EP/PUR lakove bazirane na vodi.
