Rutil je prirodni mineral koji se prvenstveno sastoji od TiO₂ te je ujedno dio skupine mineralnih pijesaka. Njegova glavna primjena je kao sirovina za proizvodnju pigmenta titanijeva dioksida, za zavarivanje te za druge proizvode poput posebnih legura.
