Aluminijev hidroksid (APYRAL®) je mljeveni ili fino kristalizirani, čvrsti materijal netopiv u vodi. Posebno se koristi za telekomunikacijske i podatkovne kablove, ali i za kablove kućanskih uređaja kao usporivač gorenja. Njegova svojstva smanjenja dima i netoksičnost su ono što ga čini jednim od najpopularnijih usporivača gorenja. Zbog vrlo visokog stupnja bjeline može se koristiti i kao bijeli pigment.
